L. Mykolaitis photo exhibition about Nemuno7

In 22 May 2022, Nemuno7, a former dredger transformed into cultural space will be moored in Zapyškis, on the left bank of Nemunas. You can already get acquainted with the past of the dredger by visiting photo exhibition. It is near the Old Church of Zapyškis.
Exhibition author Lukas Mykolaitis is a researcher and photographer from Kaunas. He works mostly with personal and historical spaces, for which he uses a variety of documentation techniques to capture, thus rethinking the topics of time, memory, heritage, information gathering, storage and transmission.
The documentation of the ship’s space, made by Lukas Mykolaitis prior to its transformation, captures the time-affected surfaces covered with layers of river plaque. Those pictures are then combined with vintage photographs of Kaunas river navigation from the interwar period, collected in the archives of the Lithuanian Sea Museum. This is another example of synthesising timelines into a seamless, sensory narrative.
